WHAT IS A "YURT".

A Yurt or Ger is a round dwelling used by the nomadic people of Russia and Mongolia, because they were strong and portable. The word "yurt" actually means "homeland" or "domain".  Yurts have been used for over 800 years, and were the housing of Genghis Khan. The Mongolians lived in a harsh climate, with great winds and extreme temperatures, and a yurt made a very suitable dwelling for them.
