"Life and Death begins in the Colon."

Take good care of your colon and your colon will take good care of you.

Two Keys to Optimal Health
There are only two guidelines for optimal health and nutrition: (1) Optimize the nutrition entering your body and (2) Reduce the toxins in your body.  Virtually every disease can be traced back to ignoring those guidelines in some way — and it all starts in the small and large intestines.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT BOWEL ELIMINATION - Make every effort to go to the toilet on your first urge to go, because bowel elimination is most effective when you do.  If you wait, the effectiveness of your eliminations are decreased about 30%, because you then begin to dehydrate with each urination causing your eliminations to gets harder causing an increase in constipation.

Poor elimination and weight gain are just two of the classic sign of intestinal dysbiosis (Poor bowel terrain, not having enough good bacteria in your colon to help keep you healthy and well).  Though not an easy nor an interesting topic of discussion, it needs to be clearly understood.  And who do you discuss this with?  It can be discussed with a qualified colon therapist/hygienist.  Someone who has trained to cleanse the colon properly.

Your bowels (colon) are your bodies sewer system.  And when it backs up (constipation) you've got a problem.  Poor elimination is one of the major causes of illness that you can do something about right now.  Poor elimination is caused be poor diet choices, not drinking enough water and sick bowels or poor bowel terrain.  When you are constipated your liver can work up to 50% harder to breakdown toxic body waste.

How often do you have fecal (stool, BM) elimination?  What is normal for you?  These are very important questions as it relates to your overall health.  Everyone has a different answer for this question.  So how often should you have fecal elimination?  There is a very simple answer to this question, and it should be the same for every health human being.  When you eat a meal, shortly there after a meal should be eliminated.  And what should be normal for you?  Is what should be normal for every healthy person.  If you don't eliminate your previous meal shortly after you have a meal, then you will have a problem with constipation.  Constipation is not a normal function for people to have.  Lets look at the average persons pattern of elimination:

You have breakfast, lunch, dinner and lets say 2 snacks in 1 day.  That's an average of 5 meals a day.  Now to maintain your health you should have a minimum of 3 eliminations in that day.   Not watery lose stools, but formed easy to pass stools.  If you have to strain to pass stool, you are having a problem with constipation.  But many people don't regularly have formed and easy to pass stools.  They may have maybe 1 elimination in a day or every other day, and feel that's normal for them.  Here's what happens when you don't have regular eliminations.

There are suggested holistic products that can help you with colon cleansing and bowel health >> H E R E.

A person who eats regular meals   Number of Meals   Number of Eliminations in 1 week   Meals Remaining in your colon after 1 week

1 week of meals eaten.

An average of 4 - 5 meals a day.

Breakfast X 7 days

Lunch      X 7 days

Dinner     X 7 days

2 snacks  X 7 days

(14 snacks in 1 week,

about 2 a day)

Breakfast - 2 in 7 days

Lunch      - 3 in 7 days

Dinner     - 3 in 7 days

Snacks    - 1 in 7 days

(Snacks usually lack fiber which

decreases elimination)

That leaves 19 meals that have not been eliminated and are still in the colon at the end of one week.  Now multiple that by weeks, months and years. That is a lot of extra food left in your colon.  Even if your eliminations are very large when you do go, over time your system begins to slow down and constipation will still increase along with abdominal distension (a big belly).  Bowel transit time is 8 - 24 hours.  What you eat should be completely out of your body with in 24 hours.  If it isn't you're constipated.

Total Meals eaten = 28

 Total Meals eliminated = 9

Total Meals not eliminated = 19

So what should you do?  What can you do?  First increase your water intake daily, not just your fluid intake from juice, milk, sodas' or other beverages.  Water is the most important fluid that you can drink, it is a natural laxative.  And within days you will begin to feel the difference.  There is no substitute for drinking good high quality water daily.  Read about the importance of hydration H E R E.

Then consider colon cleansing and products for daily bowel health.  This will help to eliminate the years of built up fecal matter and waste in your colon regularly.  Drinking enough water daily is one of the most important things that you can do for yourself.  How much water should you drink?  About 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of water.  Example, if you weigh 150 lbs you should drink about 75 oz (150 divided by 2 = 75) of water.  Hey, I hear you ;o)., you just said that's impossible.  Well here is how you do it.  Measure out how much water you need for your body weight, then over your waking hours attempt to drink that amount.  You don't do this all at once.  Just be aware of drinking during the day, a sip here, a sip there, it will add up.  Put a lime and or lemon in your water to give it a great taste.  If you are under a doctors care for cardiac and kidney concerns, consult your doctor about the amount of fluid intake that you can drink.  Then substitute some of your other beverages and drink water instead.
